Focusrite scarlet solo driver3/24/2024 ![]() ![]() In OBS I have to set it to Speakers (2- Focusrite USB audio).īut I just can't get it to work with the Focusrite USB audio device for recording. I've also used Audio capture as source in OBS, which also only works with the Windows driver activated in Studio One. I've also tried using Reastream to send a local broadcast and load it as a VST in OBS, but same story: only works with windows audio driver :( I'm not sure if it's a settings issue in OBS or an issue with my Focusrite. 30 discount available for Focusrite registered hardware customers. But for some reason I can't get it to record audio in OBS. Featuring intuitive controls that adapt to your needs and source-specific flavours to add mood to your sound, the FAST plugins are simple enough for beginners and flexible enough for the most experienced creators. I always use the Focusrite USB driver for my music production and it works for that. Or in other words, having to use Windows Audio for recording introduces a whole lot of latency compared to Focusrite USB as audio device. I really want to use the Focusrite driver though, as it improves latency greatly. But ONLY when having the Windows driver selected in Studio One. When recording my audio from Studio One, the OBS Desktop Audio shows and records the audio perfectly. If I then unplug the Edirol from the PC’s USB port it still shows in the Device Toolbar - but if I try to use it for recording I then get the “Error opening sound device …” error message.I'm creating Youtube videos on music production and use a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 1st gen audio interface. This meant that I had to rely on the default W10 USB drivers which fortunately for me drive the UA-1EX just fine.Īnd note I can get into a situation where I can see the Edirol in my Audacity Device toolbar and use it. What I do find though is that after some W10 upgrades Windows turns off the Edirol as an available device so I have to re-enable it using the steps above.Īctually the issue I did have with it was a driver issue as I used to run it in its advanced mode (for Audacity QA test purposes) which required a specialist driver from Roland/Edirol which was fine with W7 - but when I migrated to W10 Roland/Edirol provided no updated advanced-mode drivers as it was a discontinued product line. The Focusrite Scarlett Solo (3rd Generation) is a compact and affordable audio interface that really packs a punch. I run W10 and have for a while now with all regular updates including recently the Creators Update that was offered - and I have no problem in getting my external USB device (the now discontinued Edirol UA-1EX) to work with Audacity current release 2.1.3 and the many alpha test builds for 2.2.0. You need to ensure that you have suitable W10 drivers for your device from the manufacturer. If Windows cannot see your Scarlett as a recording device then that is likely to be a driver issue. With its dedicated stereo output, you can. iTrack Solo works with all the most popular iOS music apps, such as Garageband, Cubasis and Auria. J) select the Scarlett in Audacity’s Device Toolbar iTrack Solo gives you a microphone preamp from the best-selling Scarlett range with 48v phantom power, alongside a dedicated guitar input, so you can just plug in and start recording studio quality audio. H) Having enabled it in Windows and with the Scarlett already plugged in to the USB port on your PC either restart Audacity or use Transport > Rescan Audio Devices G) if it is then is it enabled? If not then enable it (you may want to make it your default recording device, but that’s optional) ![]() Try in Audacity Transport > Rescan Audio Devices - does Audacity still see the Scarlett?Īudacity will only see a devive if windows can see it …Ī) right click on the speaker icon at the bottom right of the Windows tool bar at the botttom on your screen (or use Control Panel and select Soundĭ) If so - then is it enabled - if not then enable itĮ) If not showing, right click in the white space of that dialog and make sure both Show disabled devices and Show disconnected devices are both checked onį) is the Scarlett now showing as an available recording device to Windows ![]() That reording device entry shows that the particular device, your Scarlett, was connected previously - it may not still be. I have installed the driver but when I click the icon on the desktop it says “no scarlett connected” even tho it is connected… I know it is because audacity has scarlett solo under my preferred recording device … I have no manual, the focsurite scarlett solo was a gift from my brother, he just handed me the device without any manual or box. ![]()
